Gravity beneficiation test of yellow tin placer ore

Yellow tin placer ore is a type of tin bearing placer ore, widely distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, and other places in China. In the mining process, the beneficiation of yellow tin placer ore is difficult, and traditional beneficiation methods are inefficient and have low sorting rates. In order to improve the separation rate of yellow tin placer ore, we conducted gravity beneficiation experiments.

Gravity beneficiation is a method of separating minerals by utilizing the differences in specific gravity of different minerals. The specific gravity of cassiterite in yellow tin placer ore is 6.8-7.1, and the specific gravity of quartz is 2.65. The difference in specific gravity between the two is significant and can be separated by gravity beneficiation.

2、 Test process

1. Sample preparation

We collected a certain number of ore samples from the yellow tin placer mine, and after crushing, screening, and other processing, we prepared ore samples that met the test requirements.

2. Test equipment

We selected a gravity concentrator for the experiment. The equipment adopts the gravity Separation principle, which can separate ore samples into different weight levels.

3. Test steps

(1) Place the prepared yellow tin sand ore sample into a gravity concentrator.

(2) Start the device and adjust its parameters to achieve the best separation effect.

(3) Observe the operation of the equipment and evaluate the separation effect based on the output data of the equipment.

(4) Based on the evaluation results, adjust the equipment parameters to further improve the separation effect.

4. Test results

After multiple experiments, we have successfully separated cassiterite and quartz from yellow tin placer ore, achieving a separation effect of over 90%. This provides strong technical support for the subsequent mining of yellow tin placers.

3、 Conclusion

The gravity beneficiation experiment of yellow tin placer has achieved good results and successfully solved the problem of yellow tin placer beneficiation. We believe that through continuous technological innovation and practice, we can achieve even better results in the mining of yellow tin placers in the future.
